Hezbollah member purchases weapons at gun shows
for shipment to the Lebanese terrorist group
Foreign Terrorists and Gun Shows
On September 10, the day before the attack on America, a federal court in Michigan convicted Ali Boumelhem, a Lebanese national and known member of the terrorist group Hezbollah on a variety of weapons charges. In fact, during a nine-month investigation, in which they followed Boumelhem to numerous gun shows, the FBI discovered that he was attempting to smuggle weapons to Lebanon. Please click on the following link for more details on this astonishing case.
The Case of Ali Boumelhem
During this difficult and critical time in America, our leaders are struggling with the ways to protect us from further attacks and to root out terrorists working both inside and outside our borders. We believe that, whether it is included in the first anti-terrorism package or not, the McCain-Lieberman bill is a critical part of this process.
We don't know whether the Boumelhem case is part of a pattern or an isolated lone wolf. But we do know thisthe agents of terror operating on our soil have navigated our freedoms to exploit airports, flight schools, colleges, financial institutions and libraries to strike at the heart of our country. Maybe they are not interested in using guns as part of their terror plans. Maybe they are interested only in dramatic attacks like bombs, planes and the like. But the notion that they have notor cannotfigure out that they can buy guns at gun shows with no questions asked is no longer credible.
