Americans for Gun Safety is a non-partisan, not-for-profit, advocacy organization that supports the rights of individuals who own firearms for sport, protection, and collection. We also believe that with rights come responsibilities. We seek stronger new gun laws and tougher enforcement of current laws. Our goal is to help keep guns out of the hands of criminals and kids, and to make guns safer in the home.

AGS worked closely with the citizens of Colorado and Oregon to pass ballot initiatives that require background checks at gun shows. Both initiatives passed by large margins, with support from a majority of gun owners in both states.
