Marilyn Musgrave Ducks Debate In Estes Park
FT. COLLINS"Colorado voters care about the issues, and that's what Stan Matsunaka and John Volz are talking about. I just hope that Musgrave decides to join the debates at some point," said Jim Merlino, Matsunaka's campaign manager. "Why doesn't Musgrave want to talk about her record?" Merlino asked. "I think that's the question we're all asking right now."
"I come from rural Colorado, where I learned the importance of telling people what you stand for," said Matsunaka. "I think it's important to meet with people in their community and let them know where you stand on the issues. Debates are a great way to compare the candidates side by side. You can learn a lot more about what issues matter by watching a debate than by watching a Incidentally, last night's debate took place on the anniversary of the first Lincoln-Douglas debate in Ottawa, Illinois. The series of debates that followed became a landmark in political oration and public discourse. Lincoln had issued the challenge for the debates, and Douglas accepted. 4th District Congressional Candidate Stan Matsunaka challenged his opponents Marilyn Musgrave and John Volz to a series of nine debates. Volz has accepted the challenge, and Musgrave has still not responded. The debates are to take place across the 4th CD and will provide Coloradans an opportunity to learn about what the candidates stand for.
