Library of Congress to Preserve "Matsunaka for Congress" Website

Stan2002.com
selected to be
included in
the permanent
collection of
the Library
of Congress

FT. COLLINS—Stan Matsunaka's website, www.Stan2002.com, has received recognition from the United States Library of Congress and will be included in its Election 2002 archive.

"I'm honored that the Library of Congress has chosen to include my website in its election archives. It shows that we're talking about the issues that matter to Colorado's families," stated Matsunaka.

An email letter from the Library of Congress informed the Matsunaka campaign that its website would be included as part of the Library's "Election 2002 historic Internet collection."

The letter described the collection as "a pilot project of the Library in connection with its mandate from Congress to collect and preserve ephemeral digital materials for this and future generations."

The collection will be made available in March 2003 to researchers onsite in Washington, DC, and also offsite through the Library's public access website.

The web site was produced by Campaign Advantage (www.CampaignAdvantage.com), and is updated on a continual basis. "I invite everyone to visit www.Stan2002.com," said Matsunaka.

Matsunaka concluded, "Growing up in Fort Morgan, my family taught me that you tell people what you think and stand on your own two feet. The www.Stan2002.com website is a way for me to let the voters know where I stand on the issues that matter to Colorado's families, and I'm proud that the Library of Congress will be preserving the website for future generations."

More about Senator Matsunaka's legislative accomplishments and plans can be found at his campaign website: www.stan2002.com. A press kit for reporters is available at http://www.stan2002.com/press.html.
