Matsunaka Campaign Raises $250,000 Despite difficult economic times, support is strong for Matsunaka FT. COLLINS"I continue to be committed to running a fiscally responsible race," stated Matsunaka. "This healthy cash-on-hand number will allow me to communicate my common-sense message on issues that matter to Colorado families. I remain committed to improving education, promoting responsible growth in Colorado's economy, protecting Social Security, and ensuring that health care is accessible and affordable for all Americans." "I would like to thank my generous contributors for their support. Despite difficult economic times, they were able to show their support and donate the money that will allow my campaign to continue its success," Matsunaka said. The Matsunaka For Congress campaign committee today filed its second report with the Federal Election Commission. The FEC report covers the second quarter of 2002, from April 1 through June 30. The Matsunaka FEC report shows $156,500 raised this quarter, for a total of nearly $250,000 raised and $157,500 cash on hand at the close of the period. Candidates for Federal office are required to file quarterly reports of contributions received and expenditures made on behalf of their campaigns. The FEC reports are posted on the FEC website, www.fec.gov, and can be requested from the FEC in writing. Anyone wishing to view the entire report can call Jim Merlino at (970) 224-9952.
