Stan has sponsored two bills in the state legislature to increase the prevalence of clean energy sources (HB98-1169, SB02-180), and voted to drastically reduce emissions from power plants while providing recovery benefits to companies hurt by the measure (SB02-190). Stan also voted to reduce air pollution and encourage the use of clean burning fuels by extending tax credits for purchasing alternative fuel vehicles (HB00-1067). |

Stan voted in favor of a bill to help Colorado counties protect open space and farm and ranch land (SB02-195), and voted in favor of a bill to make land use plans enforceable on such issues as environmental quality, transportation, land use, and water (SB02-120).
