Gale Davey has served as a Morgan County Sheriff, Chairman of the Colorado Racing Commission, and as Fort Morgan's Chief of Police. In 1955, he registered as a Republican, and has been a strong party supporter ever since.
He is also a strong supporter of Stan Matsunaka. On August 16th, the Matsunaka campaign released a radio ad featuring Chief Davey explains why he supports Stan Matsunaka for Congress.
"I'm pleased to support fiscal conservative Stan Matsunaka for U.S. Congress. I've met few people in my life that I would publicly support for public office, but Stan Matsunaka is one of them," said Davey from his home in Fort Morgan. "I've known the Matsunaka family for years, and I'm honored to have played a positive role in their lives."

"I'm filled with pride seeing Stan Matsunaka as Colorado's Senate President, and I'm doing what I can to let Coloradans know what kind of a guy he is. He's a good man, and will make an outstanding Congressman."
Stan Matsunaka adds: "Growing up in Fort Morgan with Gale Davey as the Police Chief is where I learned my rural Colorado values. It's time we got tough on corporate criminals and did more to protect our working families."
The script of the 60-second radio spot reads as follows:

 |
Gale Davey: |
|
This is Gale Davey, retired Chief of Police in Fort Morgana Republican since 1955. I support Stan Matsunaka for U.S. Congress.
I've known Stan Matsunaka for years, and he is an upstanding, moral, and principled Coloradoan. To Stan Matsunaka, it doesn't matter whether you steal with a pencil or a pistol, you go to jail.
As a retired Police Chief, that's the kind of tough attitude I think we need in Congress to get things done for our working families. I'm another Republican for Stan Matsunaka for Congress. |

As Leader of the Colorado Senate, it was Stan Matsunaka's job to bring Democrats and Republicans together. As a State Senator, Stan voted for over 30 tax cuts, balanced eight budgets and fought for over 5 billion dollars in tax refunds.
In Congress, Stan will continue to bring together both political parties, for a better Colorado. Stan Matsunaka. A fiscal conservative fighting and winning for Colorado's working families. |
